GENERAL FUNCTION
Under the direction of the City Engineer, the Managing Engineer is responsible to manage the development section of the Engineering Division of the Department of Public Works and Utilities. Supervises technical review and trains, supervises, assigns work, reviews work and evaluates personnel. Responsible for development plan review and approval of water, wastewater, storm water and transportation improvements both in the right-of way and on private property. Duties include performing and overseeing plan review, review of technical design calculations and reports, evaluating utility service availability, field review of site conditions including erosion control BMPs and technical inspection of improvements, evaluating project transportation impacts, and ADA compliance. Interprets, plans and administers ordinances and regulations tactfully and impartially while maintaining a positive relationship with the public.
The hiring range for this position is: $5,246.63 - $6,392.49 semi-monthly (DOQ).
