The City of Bremerton is seeking to fill one vacant position and establish an eligible register for the position of Engineering Technician in the Public Works & Utilities Department –Engineering Division. Depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate, the position may be filled as an Engineering Technician II ($31.55 -$38.63 per hour), or an Engineering Technician III ($35.16 - $42.99 per hour). Once established, this register is valid for one (1) year and future open positions will be filled using this register.

GENERAL FUNCTION – ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN II:
Junior-level engineering position that performs office and field engineering tasks to support Engineering Division activities. May also assist with permitting, including working at the Engineering Permit counter. Collecting information for mapping infrastructure. Processing permit applications for right-of-way and utility permits, reviewing and approving construction plans and traffic control plans.
GENERAL FUNCTION – ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN III:
Mid-level engineering technician position that performs office and field engineering tasks to support engineering division activities. Creates drawings and maps using AutoCAD and GIS software, gathers field data using various survey equipment, inspects construction of utility (water, wastewater, storm water) infrastructure and right-of-way improvements, and collects and interpret traffic data.
The hiring range for this position is: $31.55 - $42.99 per hour (DOQ). This salary includes longevity (1% earned after five years and increases to a maximum of 4% after 20 years).
