The City of Bremerton is seeking to fill one vacant position of Permit Technician in the City’s Department of Public Works, Engineering Division. Once established, this register is valid for one (1) year and future open positions will be filled using this register.

Under general supervision works at the permit counter assisting customers. Responsible for processing permit applications for right-of-way and utility permits, tracking progress of permit documents under review and work under construction, assigning addresses for new developments, completing required permit documents and coordinating with other Engineering staff to provide efficient completion of permitting and inspection. The work also involves reviewing construction and traffic control plans for completeness.
The hiring range for this position is: $31.55 - $38.63 per hour (2024 rates and DOQ). This salary includes longevity (1% earned after five years and increases to a maximum of 4% after 20 years).
