The City of Bremerton is seeking to fill one vacant position and establish an eligible register for the position of Forestry Service Specialist in the Public Works & Utilities Department – Forestry Division. Depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate, the position may be filled as a Forestry Service Specialist ($31.55 -$38.63 per hour), or a Forestry Service Specialist Senior ($35.16 - $42.99 per hour).Once established, this register is valid for one (1) year and future open positions will be filled using this register.

GENERAL FUNCTION – FORESTRY SERVICE SPECIALIST:
Under general direction of the Forestry Service Specialist Supervisor operates specialized heavy equipment and performs maintenance and repair work to assure smooth operation of City owned forest lands. Assists in forestry related operations such as road construction, plantation maintenance, water quality issues and biosolids operations.
GENERAL FUNCTION - FORESTRY SERVICE SPECIALIST SENIOR:
Under general direction of the Forestry Service Specialist Supervisor operates specialized heavy equipment and performs maintenance and repair work to assure smooth operation of City owned forest lands. Assist in forestry related operations such as road construction, plantation maintenance, water quality issues and biosolids operations.
The hiring range for this position is: $31.55 - $42.99 per hour (DOQ). This salary includes longevity (1% earned after five years and increases to a maximum of 4% after 20 years).
