The City of Bremerton is seeking to fill the position of Community Resource Specialist in the City’s Police Department. Once established, this register is valid for one year, and future open positions will be filled using this register.

GENERAL FUNCTION
This civilian position reports to the Support Services Captain and Chief of Police. The Community Resource Specialist coordinates crime-prevention and community-outreach programs; conducts program analysis and compliance monitoring; develops department programs and methods; supports auxiliary functions; and serves as a liaison between the Police Department and the community. The position promotes community involvement, coordinates efforts to address public-safety concerns, strengthens community relations, and communicates community concerns and initiatives to the department.
The hiring range for this position is: $38.14 - $46.72 per hour. This salary includes longevity (1% earned after five years and increases to a maximum of 4% after 20 years). Additionally, a 3.8% cost-of-living increase has been approved for 2027.

This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is eligible for overtime
This position is represented by Teamsters Local 589 in accordance with the applicable labor agreement
