The City of Bremerton is seeking to fill one vacant position and establish an eligible register for the position of Permit Specialist in the City’s Department of Community Development. Once established, this register is valid for one (1) year and future open positions will be filled using this register.

GENERAL FUNCTION
Responsible for receiving applications for building and land use permits and coordinating the application review process. Reviews submittals for code compliance/completeness and provides information and assistance to the general public, other city staff, governmental agencies, etc., relating to site development, building and land use regulations and requirements. Responsible for reviewing over-the-counter development and construction plans and permits. Work involves providing customer service in a fast-paced permit counter environment.
The hiring range for this position is: $29.76 - $36.44 per hour (DOQ). This salary reflects 2024 rates and includes longevity (1% earned after five years and increases to a maximum of 4% after 20 years).
