The City of Bremerton is seeking to fill one vacant position and establish an eligible register for the position of Accounting Assistant III. The current vacancy is in the City’s Finance Department – Utility Billing. Once established, this register is valid for one (1) year and future open positions will be filled using this register.

Under general supervision, employees exercise increasing level of judgment and discretion in the completion of a variety of skilled bookkeeping tasks according to established bookkeeping and accounting principles and procedures. Maintains accounts and prepares financial reports for the city payroll, accounts payable, utility billings, construction projects, bonds, and/or other city functions.
The hiring range for this position is: $26.77 - $32.67 per hour (DOQ). This salary reflects 2024 rates and includes longevity (1% earned after five years and increases to a maximum of 4% after 20 years).
