Who you are:
CIEE is seeking an energetic and strategic Manager, Alumni Engagement for Study Abroad Programs to join our team. This person will play a pivotal role in connecting with our extensive alumni network and parents from programs including college and high school study abroad and teach abroad. This person will also engage companies and other stakeholders to drive philanthropic initiatives and support the placement of internships. The Manager, Alumni Engagement for Study Abroad Programs will also create meaningful engagement opportunities that foster and sustain a lifelong relationship with CIEE.
What you’ll do:
Fundraising & Development:
- Cultivating relationships with alumni and parents to secure financial support for CIEE’s programs and initiatives.
- Engaging alumni to identify internship opportunities for current students and recent graduates, both domestically and abroad.
- Developing and executing targeted fundraising campaigns.
- Collaborating with staff to identify and pursue grant opportunities, sponsorships, and other funding sources.
- Managing a portfolio of potential donors, tracking progress, and reporting on fundraising goals and outcomes.
- Assisting with the planning and execution of fundraising events, as needed.
- Building partnerships with organizations and companies that can provide valuable internship placements for CIEE participants.
Student & Alumni Engagement:
- Building and maintaining relationships with CIEE’s global alumni network, fostering a sense of community and continued engagement.
- Working with staff to establish traditions for current participants that create an affinity for CIEE.
- Developing strategic reunion activities that enhance engagement and giving.
- Creating and executing strategies to enhance alumni involvement in CIEE’s mission, including organizing events, networking opportunities, and communication initiatives.
- Collaborating with marketing and communication teams to highlight alumni achievements and share stories that inspire future participants.
What you’ll bring:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent)
- 3-5 years of experience in sales, fundraising, alumni relations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in securing charitable gifts, sponsorships, or grants.
- Experience in internship placement or career services is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in CRM software, donor management systems, or other relevant tools.
- Event planning and execution experience.
- A passion for international education, cultural exchange, and CIEE’s mission. Preference for previous CIEE involvement.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to embrace CIEE’s Core Values (Excellence, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion, and Problem Solving) and culture.

The position is available to candidates in the United States, except for candidates residing in:
