Position Summary
The University of Southern Indiana is accepting applications for Education Coordinator.
Analyze the University’s learning and training needs through assessment, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Develop training curricula, materials, and programs to meet the University needs and obligations in all areas of compliance, including but not limited to Title IX, Clery, VAWA, Campus SaVE Act, equal access, equal opportunity, and affirmative action.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and evaluate training programs in areas of compliance, along with providing instruction and guidance.
- Maintaining awareness of trends and partner with subject experts on program content and delivery to ensure up-to-date curriculum of programs is compliant with University policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
- Facilitate a variety of sessions (individual or groups) for University students, faculty and staff.
- Collaboration with and providing guidance to campus partners, to support programs or trainings.
- Program scheduling, promotion of programs, communication with University and community partners, and the updating and ordering of program materials for all educational opportunities, presentations, and tabling events.
- Work collaboratively with the student group to develop meaningful trainings and programs to target the student population.
Serve as the Chair for the Student Steering Committee on Equity.
- Recruit, train, and oversee students serving as peer facilitators.
- Provide periodic services to the Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel; which may include drafting and review of state operating budget proposals, coordination of legislative and legal travel, oversight of developmental events with government officials, review of legal pleadings, and other tasks as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- A combination of educational experience or academic pursuit equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in the area of Training and Development, Supervision, Organizational Development, Education, Instructional Design, Public Relations, Ethics, Compliance, Equal Access/Equal Opportunity, Human Resources, Business or a related field.
- Candidate should have two years’ experience in training, presenting, and developing training materials.
- Ability to assess, create, maintain, and coordinate online learning modules.
- Exceptional interpersonal and public relations skills along with professionalism as a collegial team member.
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated individual with ability to efficiently multi-task, work under pressure, handle frequent interruptions, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to take initiative, assume responsibility, and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and implement University policies and procedures.
- Ability to facilitate sessions with focus groups; implement/manage large-scale online training programs.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
- Working knowledge of online instruction development programs and website design.
Regular Work Hours/Travel Requirements
- Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Occasional irregular or extended hours may be necessary.
