GENERAL FUNCTION
Under the general direction of the Director of Public Works and Utilities, serves as Utility Manager responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the maintenance and operations of the City’s utility customer services, construction, repair and maintenance of water system, sanitary sewer system, stormwater sewer system, collection, transmission and distribution infrastructure and equipment. The position is responsible to assure that assigned projects are completed safely in a timely manner and conform to the required specifications. These responsibilities require the exercising of independent judgment regarding manpower needs, equipment, construction methods and material utilization.
This position also serves as the Department Safety Officer responsible for creating, implementing and enforcing safety policies. Carry out workplace inspections to identify potential hazards. Investigate accidents and incidents and complete and submit necessary documents. Ensure compliance with all agencies and provide training to employees on safety topics and required certifications.
The hiring range for this position is: $4,881.55 - $5,947.69 semi-monthly (DOQ).
