Havergal College is one of Canada’s preeminent day and boarding independent schools for girls from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12. Reporting to the Principal, the Executive Director, Advancement is a key member of Havergal College’s Senior Leadership Team. The Executive Director provides leadership to a dedicated team of 11 individuals across the portfolios of annual giving, leadership giving, major gifts, and donor engagement. They also serve as an ambassador for Havergal College, both within the school and the broader community, demonstrating the role and importance of fundraising and community relations and advancing Havergal’s mission and reputation. The Executive Director plays an essential role in alumni relations, working closely with the School’s Old Girls’ Association.
The ideal candidate is an inspiring leader with extensive expertise in major gifts fundraising and an understanding of independent/private schools. They will have a proven track record in fund development, campaign management, event coordination, and community building. With exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, the preferred candidate will foster trust and confidence among staff, donors, alumni, and constituents. Experience leading and coaching a team is essential, as is the ability to be a team player and work collaboratively with colleagues. Strengthening connections with all community members and driving philanthropic engagement are central to this role. The successful candidate will be an experienced, forward-thinking advancement professional who believes in the power of a girls’ school to support the advancement of girls and women in society.
